Esri India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, to deepen cooperation on defence projects involving GIS, Location Intelligence and GeoAI.

The two organisations have already worked together on projects for India’s defence services, and the new agreement is expected to further strengthen that partnership.

Under the MoU, Esri India and BEL will jointly explore opportunities in the defence sector by combining BEL’s expertise in defence electronics and systems integration with Esri India’s capabilities in GIS, location intelligence and GeoAI.

The collaboration will also focus on ensuring the timely deployment of GIS solutions to meet urgent, surge-driven operational requirements across India’s defence initiatives.

The partnership aligns with the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, with both organisations aiming to leverage indigenous capabilities and technology sharing to support the needs of the country’s defence establishment.
