UNI-T has broadened its electrical-safety testing ecosystem with the launch of the UT5400 and UT5470 Series, two new platforms designed to streamline high-voltage compliance and withstand-voltage validation for industrial, power, and regulatory-testing environments. The move reinforces the brand’s push toward integrated, high-capacity safety-test solutions that meet evolving global standards while improving operator safety and setup efficiency.

Comprehensive safety analysis with the UT5400 Series
The UT5400 Series is positioned as a multi-function electrical-safety analyzer, integrating five core tests into a single instrument:
- AC withstand voltage (ACW)
- DC withstand voltage (DCW)
- Insulation resistance (IR)
- AC ground bond (GB)
- Ground continuity (GC)
With a rated output capacity of up to 500 VA, the UT5400 can deliver AC withstands up to 5 kV / 100 mA and maintain tight voltage accuracy around ±1%, making it suitable for high-power industrial equipment, power?conversion systems, and large-scale electrical appliances.
The series also supports breakdown?voltage measurement and advanced pass-/fail judgment logic, helping manufacturers align with global safety standards such as IEC, UL, EN, CCC, and others.
High?voltage withstand testing with the UT5470 Series
The UT5470 Series steps into more specialized high-voltage territory, focusing on AC/DC withstand-voltage (hipot) testing.
It can supply AC up to 10 kV / 20 mA and DC up to 12 kV / 10 mA, enabling rigorous insulation-performance checks on components such as transformers, switchgear, motor windings, and high-voltage power modules.
Integrated leakage-current monitoring allows engineers to detect early-stage insulation breakdown and marginal insulation paths, improving both product reliability and regulatory compliance.
Operator-centric design and production-ready interfaces
Both series feature a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen with intuitive menus for test-program configuration, step-wise sequencing, and result review.
The UT5400 and UT5470 support multiple communication options, RS232/485, USB Host, LAN, Handler, and barcode interfaces along with standard SCPI and MODBUS protocols, easing integration into automated test racks and production?line validation systems.
Up to 128 test files, each holding hundreds of test steps, let users build complex safety-test routines that can be reused across product batches.
Enhanced safety and diagnostic features
Safety remains a central design pillar. The platforms include electric-shock protection, short-circuit protection, over-temperature safeguards, and upper/lower limit alarms, with independent protection circuits that actively monitor output paths.
For wiring-reliability assurance, the UT5400 adds OSC detection and charging-lower-limit checks, flagging loose connections or poor lead contact before full-voltage tests begin.
Adjustable arc detection (multiple sensitivity levels) further improves measurement accuracy in high-leakage-current environments.
Target markets and positioning
UNI-T targets the UT5400 and UT5470 Series at power-electronics manufacturers, industrial equipment builders, EV and renewable-energy suppliers, and accredited calibration or safety labs, where repeatable, high-voltage validation is critical.
By combining multi-function safety analysis and dedicated high-voltage withstand testing under one brand umbrella, the new platforms aim to reduce the need for multiple niche testers, while keeping total cost of ownership and test-floor complexity in check.
