Alok Bajpai has been appointed Managing Director, India for NTT DATA’s Global Data Centers segment. Bajpai will spearhead the company’s expansion plan in one of its most vibrant and quickly changing areas in this enlarged leadership position.
Bajpai was instrumental in pushing strategic initiatives and building a solid financial basis for scalable growth during his tenure as CFO of NTT Global Data Centers India. In his new role as Managing Director, he will be in charge of corporate operations and spearhead regional market expansion initiatives.
Alok Bajpai has more than thirty years of international leadership experience in a variety of sectors. He has held top management positions at AdaniConneX, CSS Corp, Intelligroup, and Infosys and has extensive experience in financial strategy, operational restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions.
In addition to having a graduate degree in management from Alliance Manchester Business School, he is a chartered accountant in India and a certified public accountant in the United States. In addition, he was voted CiMA’s Most Influential CFO and was recognized four times by the CFO100 Roll of Honor.
Accelerating Data Center Growth in India
Under Alok Bajpai’s leadership, NTT Global Data Centers is accelerating the expansion of its data center footprint across key Indian metros to meet surging demand for enterprise and AI-ready infrastructure.
As one of the world’s fastest-growing digital economies, India presents a critical opportunity for NTT Global Data Centers to scale high-performance computing capabilities and deliver specialized support for AI workloads.
The company is setting the standard for cutting-edge infrastructure solutions in the area, such as next-generation cooling systems made especially for artificial intelligence applications. NTT Global Data Centers increased energy efficiency by about 30% at its Navi Mumbai facility by implementing liquid immersion cooling (LIC) and direct contact liquid cooling (DLC).
With its current PUE of 1.27, the hybrid-cooled facility represents a major advancement in energy-efficient operations designed for high-performance computing. The company’s dedication to dependable and sustainable infrastructure is further demonstrated by the more than 100 MW of operational renewable energy already supported by its data centers in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
In order to support the future growth of its data center business in both existing and new markets, NTT Global Data Centers has invested over $10 billion in capital development.
