Craig H. Barratt, Ph.D., 63, has been named to Intel Corporation’s board of directors, with immediate effect. Dr. Barratt is going to be an independent director.

After joining the company after it acquired Barefoot Networks, where he was CEO, he also held the position of SVP for Intel’s networking, photonics, and Ethernet divisions.
Dr. Barratt has over thirty years of experience as a leader in the technology and semiconductor industries. He previously led Atheros Communications, a leader in wireless semiconductor technology, through a successful initial public offering (IPO) and Qualcomm’s $3.1 billion acquisition.
Dr. Craig Barratt led Google Fiber and other broadband and energy projects while in high leadership positions at Google earlier in his career.
At the moment, Dr. Barratt is a board member of Astera Labs, Intuitive Surgical’s lead independent director, and a number of private companies.
He graduated from the University of Sydney with bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering, pure mathematics, and physics, and from Stanford University with master’s and PhD degrees in electrical engineering.
