Rohde & Schwarz RF and microwave Test Solutions at EuMW 2026

When the device under test starts pushing beyond the capabilities of the instrument measuring it, engineers can quickly run into the limits of conventional test methods. At European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2026 in London, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase a range of advanced test and measurement solutions designed to help engineers overcome those challenges across RF and microwave components, wireless, radar and satellite systems.

The company will exhibit at booth B10 during the European Microwave Exhibition at ExCeL London from October 6 to 8.

Its demonstrations will focus on technologies that support increasingly demanding electronic warfare (EW), electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO), satellite, radar and high-frequency applications.

Testing electronic warfare and contested spectrum scenarios

One of the key demonstrations will feature the R&S FSWX signal and spectrum analyzer in a radar and electronic warfare test scenario focused on DRFM-based jammers.

An R&S®SMW200A vector signal generator will simulate radar signals, while the FSWX will use its multi-channel architecture to analyze jammer input and output signals simultaneously. This enables engineers to assess deceptive signal behavior in greater detail.

The demonstration will also feature the new, fully integrated R&S FSWX-KM700 pulse analysis option, which measures both channels in parallel. It provides detailed information on pulsed radar parameters, differences between the two channels and how those parameters change over time.

Extending high-frequency measurements to 110 GHz

Rohde & Schwarz will also demonstrate how the FSWX’s multi-channel capabilities can be extended into the E-band and up to 110 GHz for high-frequency component characterization.

Combined with the R&S®SFI100A wideband IF vector signal generator and fully calibrated R&S FE110ST/SR external frontends, the setup supports wideband testing of satellite components for next-generation payload and link applications.

The combination is designed to help engineers capture the actual characteristics of devices under test and move beyond the limitations imposed by traditional measurement equipment.

Faster testing of low-noise signal sources

Another highlight will be the enhanced R&S®FSWP phase noise analyzer and VCO tester platform, which is designed for advanced characterization of components including synthesizers, OCXOs, DROs, VCOs and two-port components such as amplifiers.

The platform supports residual and absolute phase noise measurements up to 56 GHz. With the improved internal reference provided by the R&S FSWP-B62, engineers gain additional flexibility when testing low-noise signal sources.

New options for integrating external signal sources as local oscillators can also accelerate measurements significantly, with Rohde & Schwarz citing potential speed improvements of up to 1,000 times in some cases. This makes the platform suited to development work involving radar, satellite, base station and high-speed digital applications.

High-power RF testing up to 53 GHz

For applications where RF frontends need to operate at higher power levels, Rohde & Schwarz will present the new R&S SAM200 system amplifier for high-power testing in the Ka- and V-bands up to 53 GHz.

Higher RF power is increasingly important in radar, satellite links and backhaul systems, where signals need to cover greater distances. The R&S SAM200 is designed to add higher signal power to test setups while maintaining precise and reliable level control.

At EuMW, the company will demonstrate the amplifier in two configurations. The first will characterize a high-power Ka-band amplifier using the R&S®ZNA vector network analyzer in an integrated and calibrated test setup. The second will examine amplifier linearity in a wideband modulated scenario using the R&S®SMW200A vector signal generator and the FSW signal and spectrum analyzer.

Scalable measurements for satellite and phased-array systems

Rohde & Schwarz will also highlight the R&S®ZNB3000 vector network analyzer for applications spanning satellite communications, Earth observation and radio astronomy.

The analyzer combines wide dynamic range with low trace noise to provide the sensitivity needed for demanding antenna characterization and radar measurements. Optional millimeter-wave converters can extend its frequency coverage up to 330 GHz, including frequencies used by microwave and millimeter-wave radiometers.

For phased-array applications, the company will demonstrate an over-the-air (OTA) test setup designed for fast antenna measurements and radiation pattern validation.

The setup combines the R&S®ATS1800C CATR-based over-the-air test system with theR&S®ZNA vector network analyzer and features a 5G NR FR2 device under test. The configuration is designed to reduce test complexity, improve throughput and maintain beamforming accuracy across development, verification and production.

Visitors will also get a closer look at the internal technology of the R&S ATS1800C through a special see-through version featuring a plexiglass wall, providing a view of its CATR technology.

Bringing micro-Doppler into radar target testing

Rohde & Schwarz will further demonstrate new sensing capabilities with the R&S®AREG800A radar target generator, targeting emerging applications such as 6G integrated sensing and communication (ISAC).

As 6G moves toward combining connectivity with environmental awareness, ISAC is expected to play an important role in detecting and classifying objects using mobile infrastructure. The R&S AREG800A can emulate distance, speed and radar cross section (RCS), while also generating micro-Doppler signatures.

This enables more realistic test scenarios for applications such as drone detection and supports the development and validation of emerging radar sensing technologies.

With demonstrations spanning electronic warfare, satellite communications, high-frequency component characterization, high-power RF and 6G sensing, Rohde & Schwarz is using EuMW 2026 to show how advanced measurement capabilities can help engineers keep pace with increasingly complex RF and microwave systems.
