NeoMesh, Semtech to Demo Next-Gen Smart Meter Network at electronica India

THE VOLT VOTES

NeoCortec will demonstrate its NeoMesh wireless mesh networking protocol for smart meters at electronica India, running 16 to 18 September at the BIEC exhibition centre in Bengaluru. The company will present a live showcase at Semtech’s booth H3.G11 to highlight how NeoMesh performs in large scale metering deployments.

The demonstration comes as NeoCortec partners with semiconductor and IoT systems provider Semtech Corporation. Visitors will see NeoMesh paired with Semtech’s LR2021 transceiver, which supports FLRC, LoRa and FSK modulation. The combination is designed to meet the competing demands of dense meter installations and networks that need occasional longer hops.

NeoMesh includes a native DLMS®/HDLC adaptation layer, giving utilities a scalable, secure and reliable wireless platform. FLRC is well suited to dense meter clusters because it balances robustness and spectral efficiency, while LoRa remains available when longer range links are required.

The live demo at Electronica India will let attendees evaluate real world performance and deployment flexibility, showing how the two vendors’ technologies work together to address the connectivity challenges of modern smart metering networks.NeoMesh wireless mesh networking with Semtech at electronica The Volt Post

Leadership Comment

Thomas Steen Halkier, CEO, NeoCortec: “Analysts agree that the smart energy metering market in India is growing significantly, by between 10% and up to 30% CAGR in the next 10 years. Even at the lower end, that represents a huge revenue opportunity, but one which needs proven, reliable, and effective communications on a massive scale. The combination of Semtech’s multi-modulation IC technology and our NeoMesh protocol, which facilitates virtually unlimited scalability, low power operation and simple installation with self-healing, is perfect for this application. We look forward to meeting potential eco-systems development partners at Electronica India.”
