The new XENSIV TLE49SR angle sensor family from Infineon Technologies offers great precision together with good resilience to stray fields. Applications of safety-critical automobile chassis systems, such electric power steering and vehicle height leveling, are perfect for these sensors.Infineon XENSIV TLE49SR Angle Sensor Family the volt post

The XENSIV TLE49SR line of products is resistant to stray magnetic fields up to 8 mT. With 4000 A/m (equivalent to 5 mT) for inhomogeneous stray field, the angle sensor family surpass ISO11452-8 level IV criteria for automotive electrification and hybridization and do away with the need for external shielding.

An angle inaccuracy of less than 1° is defined by the angle sensor family’s intrinsic accuracy.

A look-up table can be utilized to further minimize the angle error: With 16 variables and 32 equidistant points, multipoint calibration produces an angle inaccuracy of less than 0.5°.

This feature aids in compensating for angle variations brought by, for example, by manufacturing process mechanical misalignments.

The angle sensors were developed according to ISO 26262 as a “safety element out of context”. The ASIL C metric on component level enables system designs up to functional safety level ASIL D.

Availability

The first products of the new XENSIV TLE49SR angle sensor family are available now with either PWM, SENT or SPC interface. For surface mounting, they are supplied in a TDSO-8 package.
