Renesas Electronics declared that three of its most recent microcontroller groups (MCUs) have successfully earned PSA Certified Level 1 accreditation with the European Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance extension. An important step in Renesas MCUs dedication to cybersecurity and adherence to impending European laws is this certification, which was assessed by Applus+ Laboratories.
The Arm® Cortex®-M33 (CM33) core-based low power, 32-bit microcontrollers (MCUs) with Arm TrustZone® technology are part of the certified RA4L1 MCU Group.
They offer a perfect blend of low voltage operation, low power consumption, and great performance. These devices are perfect for various applications in the fields of industrial automation, home appliances, smart homes, consumer electronics, building/home automation, and medical/healthcare because of their integrated low power characteristics, sophisticated security engine, and communication interfaces.
Based on the Arm® Cortex®-M85 (CM85) architecture, Renesas MCUs approved RA8E1 and RA8E2 MCU Groups are made for a variety of uses, such as medical equipment, home appliances, smart home systems, and industrial automation. While the RA8E2 MCU Group integrates a Graphics LCD for sophisticated Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solutions, the RA8E1 MCU Group has Arm HeliumTM technology for Vision and Voice AI applications.
An update of PSA Certified, a prominent worldwide security framework created in 2019 by Arm and industry partners, has been added to its Level 1 certification to cover the impending European Cyber Resilience Act’s compliance criteria. A wide range of digital products will be subject to this new rule, which is scheduled to become mandatory in December 2027.
