FPT Industrial Celebrates Iveco’s 50th Anniversary at the Arbon R&D Center

IVECO 50th anniversary celebrations were carried on by FPT Industrial, the Iveco Group brand dedicated to the design, manufacture, and distribution of powertrains and solutions for off-road and on-road vehicles, as well as maritime and power generation applications. The R&D Center in Arbon, Switzerland, gathered stakeholders and local institutional officials last Friday as part of a Family & Friends Day celebration for its employees.IVECO 50th anniversary celebrations by FPT Industrial

The event featured thought-provoking speeches and round tables that highlighted the company’s research and innovation while guiding attendees through the history, present, and future of propulsion.

The influence of digital mobility and artificial intelligence, the importance of financed initiatives and partnerships in accelerating and scaling innovation, and the advancement of alternative fuels and zero-carbon propulsion both now and in the future were among the topics covered during the day.

A panel also discussed the function of “Swiss innovation,” prospects for international cooperation, and luring talent. Laboratory tours and a networking event marked the end of the day, providing attendees with additional chances for learning, sharing, and conversation.

One of FPT Industrial’s most cutting-edge technology and innovation centers worldwide, the Arbon R&D plant is a real shining example of excellence for the neighborhood.

The center develops products for on-road, off-road, and racing applications by acting as a hub for advanced engineering and research operations related to internal combustion engines and the ePowertrain lineup. More than 200 driven individuals from 21 different countries collaborate here to create tomorrow’s answers now.

Research into alternative fuels and zero-emissions solutions, ATS technologies, as well as hydrogen technology – both in combustion and fuel cell – are among the primary focus areas of the facility’s work.

Dedicated labs, test benches, and sophisticated assembly rooms support and enhance the value of human talent.

Sustainability has also been taken into consideration when developing these areas’ high technological value: waste heat is effectively recovered and repurposed for space heating, public swimming pools, and temperature control in industrial cells, while dyno test benches capture and transform otherwise lost energy into electricity.

Some of FPT Industrial’s most important technological advancements, such as the most recent advancements for the eBS 37 EVO and eBS 69 battery packs and the hydrogen version of the XCURSOR 13, are intimately associated with the Arbon R&D Center’s history.IVECO 50th anniversary celebrations by FPT Industrial

These significant achievements further solidify the Arbon innovaion center as a powerful embodiment of FPT Industrial’s two-pronged strategy, which invests in new zero-emission technologies while maintaining leadership and innovation in internal combustion engines.
