element14 “Start a Movement” Design Challenge to Build Moving Projects

element14 is introducing the “Start a Movement” Design Challenge, giving 20 engineers the chance to build a project of their choice with a moving component. The Analog Devices TMC5272-EVAL kit, along with the QSH4218 NEMA 17 stepper motor  and PSU, will be used by the challengers to automate movement in their designs and give life to their projects.element14 Start a Movement Design Challenge for Engineers The Volt Post

When it comes to how they would like to include moving parts in their projects, designers are encouraged to use their creativity. Among the examples of tasks that can be completed include, but are not restricted to: 

  • Movement Control
  • Precise Movement
  • Wearables
  • Personal Portable Devices
  • Optical Systems, Lens Control
  • CCTV, Surveillance, Conference Systems Focus/Zoom and Pan/Tilt Control
  • Patch and Insulin Pumps
  • Pipettes and Liquid Handling
  • Small Printing and Scanning Devices
  • Lab and Office Automation
  • Space-Constrained Stepper Motor Applications
  • Energy efficient movement control

Deadline and Process of “Start a Movement” Design Challenge

The deadline for applications is October 18th. Participants will have till December 3rd to build their projects after being chosen.

Selected participants must post five blogs or forum posts about their build process and one project article about the project’s end result within the contest site in order to be considered as having completed the challenge.

Posts with images, videos, and code samples shall be judged under consideration.

The Grand Prize of “Start a Movement” Design Challengeelement14 Start a Movement Design Challenge for Engineers 1 The Volt Post

The grand prize winner will receive a KELKART 27.5 Inch Electric Bike, runners-up will receive a Fafrees Electric Bike and other finishers of the challenge will receive a MultiComp Pro Multimeter Set.
