TP-Link India has started local production of its Wi-Fi 7 lineup, beginning with the Omada EAP770 enterprise access point, marking a clear push to make India a manufacturing hub for next-generation wireless gear. The move supports the company’s “Make in India” strategy and aims to meet growing domestic demand while targeting selective export markets.

India’s telecom regulator recently delicensed the lower 6 GHz band, creating a regulatory environment that encourages faster Wi?Fi 7 deployment and makes local production a timely strategic play.
Turning India into a Wi-Fi 7 base
TP-Link is shifting from being primarily a sales market to becoming a production base for advanced networking hardware , a step that dovetails with India’s broader drive for self-reliance in electronics.
The new lineup is a tri-band enterprise AP and will serve environments like campuses, hospitals, retail, hotels, and schools.
The company already sources the vast majority of its India sales via local EMS partners and plans to push that local content even higher over the next few years.
What Changes With Wi-Fi 7
Wi?Fi 7 delivers higher throughput, lower latency, and better performance in crowded networks features that matter most in enterprise and public deployments where many devices must stay reliably connected.
Local manufacturing can shorten lead times, improve supply resilience, and lower dependency on imports, all of which help speed commercial rollouts.
