EcoG and Siemens Digital Industries are teaming up to future-proof the fast-charging ecosystem. Under a newly inked partnership, Munich-based EcoG has been named an official Siemens Product Partner for SIMATIC Automation Systems. Siemens supplies its proven SIMATIC automation hardware, while EcoG steps in to handle system integration, the operating system, and field operations.

For charger manufacturers and network operators, migrating to the EcoG OS is a long-term security choice.
It guarantees the continuous software updates required to stay ahead of strict upcoming regulatory deadlines, most notably the EU’s ISO 15118-20 mandate taking effect on January 1, 2027, and the Cyber Resilience Act following in December 2027.
Beyond compliance, the platform packs serious operational capabilities. It fully supports standard Plug & Charge variants, the Megawatt Charging System (MCS) for heavy-duty commercial fleets, and billing that strictly complies with German calibration law (Eichrecht).
Crucially for network reliability, the OS features built-in remote diagnostics and anomaly detection, helping operators catch faults early and drastically cut down on costly on-site service calls.
Leadership Comments
Jörg Heuer, CEO and co-founder of EcoG: “This partnership goes beyond a pure technology partnership. We are laying the foundation to take one of the largest charge
point portfolios in the market into the future on the software side. On this basis, manufacturers can quickly bring their chargers up to date without having to redevelop them. The SIMATIC architecture stays in place; we simply replace the charging module.”
René Kuroczka, Product Manager Automation Systems, Siemens Digital Industries: “Our customers build their charging systems on SIMATIC automation, and that will not change. For integration in the field, we have found a partner in EcoG with whom we combine an established, future-proof charging infrastructure ecosystem with proven industrial automation.”
