Elektrobit, Microchip to Accelerate Automotive Software Development

THE VOLT VOTES

Elektrobit and Microchip Technology have teamed up to take the friction out of AUTOSAR-based software development for automotive manufacturers and suppliers.

With the industry racing toward software-defined vehicles, OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers are feeling the pressure to accelerate development cycles without compromising on safety or quality.

By pairing Microchip’s automotive hardware with Elektrobit’s AUTOSAR software and automation tools, this collaboration gives engineering teams a massive head start in building a production-ready software foundation.

Instead of getting bogged down in foundational setup, developers get immediate access to pre-integrated

AUTOSAR Microcontroller Abstraction Layer (MCAL) software powered by Elektrobit’s EB tresos portfolio. This cuts out a significant amount of integration complexity and project risk, freeing up teams to focus on what actually matters: application development and vehicle differentiation.

A major advantage of this partnership is Elektrobit’s automation-first approach. By treating integration-as-code, they turn repetitive Classic AUTOSAR integration tasks into reusable, executable logic. It allows teams to scale their delivery capacity through automation today, while laying the groundwork for AI-assisted configuration tomorrow.

The combined solution is already out of the gate. Elektrobit has successfully enabled its EB tresos AutoCore OS and Generic modules on Microchip’s SAMA5 series of microprocessors, meaning it is available for immediate use, with support for more platforms on the horizon.

Initially, the two companies are setting their sights on high-growth automotive markets in Asia, particularly the booming two-wheeler segment, while also pursuing broader opportunities across Asia and North America.Elektrobit AUTOSAR-based software and Microchip Hardware THe Volt Post
