CesiumAstro Acquires Jariet to Strengthen RF-SoC, SATCOM Portfolio

THE VOLT VOTES

CesiumAstro has acquired Jariet Technologies, a mmWave RF System-on-Chip (RF-SoC) semiconductor company serving the satellite communications, electronic warfare, and radar markets. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition strengthens CesiumAstro’s strategy to build a vertically integrated satellite communications business, extending its capabilities from semiconductor design and RF signal processing to communications hardware, satellites, onboard computing, and mission systems.

By bringing semiconductor development in-house, CesiumAstro aims to gain greater control over the performance of the RF signal chain while improving integration between silicon, hardware, software, and mission-level systems. The company said the move could help reduce size, weight, power consumption, cost, and overall system complexity across space and terrestrial applications.

Jariet develops direct-RF signal-processing ICs and high-speed data-converter technologies for software-defined systems. Its solutions support multi-band and multi-function capabilities for applications including SATCOM, electronic warfare, and radar.

The company has also built a U.S.-based semiconductor supply chain and developed high-volume RF chiplet manufacturing capabilities for heterogeneous integration. Its engineering team, intellectual property, and RF production expertise will now support CesiumAstro’s work on future payloads, active phased-array terminals, gateways, airborne platforms, and advanced communications networks.

New ASIC Roadmap

CesiumAstro and Jariet plan to develop and bring new application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) to the broader market. The combined roadmap will unite Jariet’s RF and semiconductor expertise with CesiumAstro’s experience in software-defined communications, active phased arrays, satellite payloads, and space systems.

The companies expect this integration to accelerate the development of semiconductor and system-level technologies for commercial, government, civil, and defense customers.

Jariet’s RF capabilities add another layer to CesiumAstro’s recent expansion strategy. The company’s earlier acquisition of Vidrovr, an AI company focused on real-time multimodal signal analysis, is intended to expand its ability to integrate artificial intelligence into space communications and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems.

With the Jariet acquisition, CesiumAstro is extending that strategy down to the chip level. The company said the combined portfolio will support more resilient, software-defined communications and ISR systems across ground, air, and space applications.

Leadership Comments

“This acquisition brings a foundational semiconductor capability into CesiumAstro,” said Shey Sabripour, Founder and CEO of CesiumAstro. “Combined with our expertise in software-defined communications, active phased arrays, payloads, and satellite platforms, Jariet strengthens our ability to deliver differentiated, high-performance systems at scale.”
