Feintool officially inaugurated its first production facility in India on June 24, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion in the region. Located in Pune’s industrial hub, the plant is now ramping up production to fulfill initial customer orders, with a focus on fineblanked automotive components.

At the opening ceremony, CEO Lars Reich emphasized the importance of the new site, saying Feintool is meeting customer demand for local production in India at the right time, as the country’s automotive and industrial markets continue to gain momentum.
With 18 production sites across Asia, Europe, and the United States, Feintool specializes in large-scale manufacturing of high-precision components using fineblanking, cold forming, and e-lamination stamping technologies. The company’s “local-for-local” approach allows it to serve customers directly in their regional markets while drawing on its global technical expertise.
Marcel Pernici, President of Feintool Asia, said this model makes the company more agile and less exposed to geopolitical uncertainty, while still delivering the reliability customers expect.
India is already the world’s third-largest automotive market and is expected to see strong growth in the years ahead. It is also becoming increasingly important as an export base, and many of Feintool’s existing automotive customers are expanding their operations in the country and looking for dependable local supply partners.
Tobias Gries, Managing Director India, said the company has built a strong team in India and is now beginning production in Pune with fineblanked automotive seating systems. He added that Feintool is also prepared to expand into cold forming, e-motor core production, and hydrogen applications as demand grows.
The Pune facility reflects the company’s broader strategy of combining local market presence with global expertise, while staying closely aligned with customer needs and long-term industrial growth.
