VIAVI Solutions added two new all-in-one handheld testers for multi-gig power and service testing at data rates up to 10 Gbps to its lineup of reliable and durable portable devices for last-mile fiber service turn-up and activation.
VIAVI’s exhibit J1285 at the SCTE Tech Expo, which takes place in Washington, D.C., from September 29 to October 1, will be the first place to see the new tests.

The OneExpert Fiber and OneExpert HFC all-in-one handheld testers help technicians learn faster and simplify PON service deployment and maintenance by enabling validation and troubleshooting of fiber, Ethernet, WiFi 7, and DOCSIS connections with speeds up to 10 Gbps in less than a minute.
The OneExpert HFC (ONX-720/ONX-730) offers further support for DOCSIS service delivery and is perfect for cable operators wishing to upgrade their current OneExpert CATV to accommodate PON / FTTx. The OneExpert Fiber (ONX-700) validates Ethernet, Fiber, and WiFi 7 connections.
With the help of the new, user-friendly tools, which include automated pass/fail notification capabilities and pre-configured and customized test profiles, any technician can become an expert in the end-to-end connection and performance testing of PON networks.
OneCheck single-button testing can be used to confirm that customers are receiving the necessary WiFi signal strength and speed, confirm DOCSIS service delivery over Coax or Ethernet, validate wired service delivery from the Gateway or ONT, and provide pre-delivery speed validation of the PON or P2P Fiber network.
The new IP54-rated tools are made to last for many years, are weatherproof, and have undergone a one-meter drop test. Because modular architecture enables personnel to stay up to date with emerging technologies like 25G and 50G service testing, it lowers cost of ownership and offers future-proof capabilities.
By standardized test methods and directing workflows, compatibility with VIAVI TPA (Test Process Automation) guarantees technician process compliance.
