HCLTech announced the second edition of the HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas initiative as part of its dedication to assisting in the creation of a sustainable planet.
In its second edition, HCLTech will award an additional $1 million in grants to three non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are fighting climate change and preserving biodiversity in ten countries in the Americas, building on the tremendous response from its first edition.
Applications from all eligible nations—Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and the United States—are being accepted through the application portal, which is now open from October 24 until December 20. On June 5, 2025, the honorees’ identities will be revealed.
The Americas program was started by HCLTech in 2023 with a five-year grant commitment of $5 million to encourage scalable, reproducible, and sustainable solutions to combat the current global climate catastrophe.
The funding is available to non-profit groups in the Americas listed below for their climate action initiatives that support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN.
Brazil-based Argilando, Canada-based No. 9 Contemporary Art and the Environment and US-based The Longleaf Alliance were the three recipients of the inaugural edition of the HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas.
HCLTech and its CSR division, HCLFoundation, have invested more than $175 million in corporate social responsibility initiatives worldwide to date. They have recovered 81 billion liters of water, brought 72,000 acres of land under green governance, and changed the lives of over 6.5 million people.
98% of HCLTech’s facilities have the highest certifications from Green Building Councils, and the company restored 32 times as much water as it used throughout its activities in India in FY24. HCLTech has consistently shown its dedication to sustainability and social responsibility in the US through its partnerships with non-profits like One Tree Planted and Feeding America.
HCLTech’s sustainability accomplishments have been acknowledged by a number of international organizations.
It has been featured in the S&P Sustainability Yearbook for the last two years, received an A- rating from CDP for its climate change initiatives, and received an AA grade from the MSCI ESG ratings.
