Season 4 City Digital Video Series of DigiKey, themed, “AI in the Smart World” supported by STMicroelectronics and Molex, launched. The upcoming season of the three-part series of “AI in the Smart World” will delve into many facets of integrating artificial intelligence (AI). It will range from public services and environmental monitoring to infrastructure and transportation.
Season 4 City Digital Video Series also highlights AI and the transformative role it plays in shaping modern cities. Today’s hardware and software innovations will power the integration of AI into tomorrow’s urban fabric, with an aim to enhance efficiency, sustainability and quality of life.

“The Intelligent Backbone,” the first of three videos in the series, explores the critical role artificial intelligence (AI) plays in transforming urban infrastructure. This episode shows how artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming the cornerstone of effective and sustainable urban life, from smart buildings outfitted with AI-driven energy systems to the implementation of intelligent traffic management and the use of AI in monitoring key infrastructure.
The second video, “On the Move,” will examine how artificial intelligence is transforming how objects and people move through their surroundings. Developments in AI-powered public transportation, intelligent traffic management systems, and autonomous cars show how these technologies may improve transportation in terms of speed, safety, and environmental friendliness.
“The Responsive City,” the third and last video, will examine how artificial intelligence (AI) may improve environmental monitoring and public services. It discusses how AI may affect trash management, public utility predictive maintenance, and environmental monitoring and response. The episode also demonstrates how AI will contribute to the development of more flexible and responsive urban landscapes.
