The agreement was announced at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Vadodara and is focused on evaluating the feasibility of local semiconductor materials production while also helping strengthen supply chain resilience in the country.

Fujifilm said it will work with the Gujarat government, industry bodies and private partners as India continues building out its domestic semiconductor base.

Dholera is quickly emerging as one of the most important semiconductor destinations in India, attracting attention from both global and local companies as the country scales up chip manufacturing and supporting infrastructure. Fujifilm’s move reflects growing confidence in the region’s long-term potential.

The company said its electronic materials business brings specialized expertise that could support India’s semiconductor ambitions, especially as the country looks to localize critical inputs for chip production. The initiative also fits into the larger effort to position India as a global hub for electronics and semiconductor manufacturing.

For Fujifilm, the MoU marks an important step toward a deeper role in India’s semiconductor supply chain at a time when advanced materials are becoming increasingly vital to the industry’s future.
