The third generation of the XENSIV 3D magnetic Hall-effect sensor family, which includes three product series (TLE493D-W3B6-Bx, TLE493D-P3B6, and TLE493D-P3I8), was introduced by Infineon Technologies, utilizing its experience in magnetic position sensors. The sensor family, which was created in compliance with ISO26262, has integrated diagnostic capabilities to support functional safety applications up to ASIL-B.
The devices’ great degree of versatility makes them perfect for a variety of industrial, consumer, and automotive applications, including automotive controls, long-stroke linear position measurement, angular position measurement, and pedal or valve position sensing.
By utilizing three-dimensional measurement capabilities and high-temperature resistance, they facilitate control in automotive applications both interior and under the hood.
The new XENSIV 3D magnetic Hall-effect sensor family functions as an I2C or SPI bus slave and measures the magnetic field in three orthogonal dimensions. With a lifetime variation of X/Y < 1.7% and X-Y/Z = 6.75%, the devices provide improved magnetic performance and accuracy.
The number of components needed can be decreased because to the 3D magnetic measurement method and platform adaptability made possible by the device’s configurability.
Additionally, because of its wake-up mode, the device uses extremely little power. The TLE493D-X3XX provides 3D magnetic field measuring ranges of ±50 mT, ±100 mT, and ±160 mT and supports 3.3 V and 5 V supply voltages.
These linear magnetic range options make the XENSIV 3D magnetic Hall-effect sensor ideal for operating components of multifunction steering wheels, multimedia systems, and navigation systems. Additionally, the devices function consistently across a temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.
