As the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) implements new steps to increase program efficiency and transparency, SGS has reported significant developments in Tanzania’s pre-export verification of conformity (PVoC) program.

In order to strengthen document integrity and enhance traceability throughout the verification process, TBS released a new certificate of conformity (CoC) template on November 1, 2025.
The updated format improves security features and synchronizes documentation with the nation’s broader import oversight modernization initiatives. To provide a seamless transition for exporters and supply chain partners, SGS has completely implemented the revised CoC format throughout its operations.
Simultaneously, TBS is starting a phased system integration project to enhance data accuracy, monitoring, and information flow within the PVoC framework.
The impending merger will produce a more efficient digital environment, enabling improved visibility of conformity evaluations carried out before export, even while the current lines of communication are still operational.
TBS’s long-term goal of improving trade procedure efficiency and traceability is supported by this modernization initiative.
Stakeholders are encouraged to remain attentive to TBS updates and reach out for guidance to ensure documentation, product conformity and verification processes align with the latest requirements.
