With the release of the R&S RTB 2, Rohde & Schwarz expands their line of oscilloscopes. The R&S RTB2000 was the first entry-level oscilloscope to provide touchscreen functionality and 10 bit vertical resolution. With a class-leading 160 Mpts segmented memory and an integrated arbitrary waveform generator, the R&S RTB 2 builds upon these industry-leading features.
The R&S RTB 2, the replacement for the well-liked R&S RTB2000 oscilloscope, expands Rohde & Schwarz’s line of entry-level oscilloscopes.
With features like touchscreen operation and 10 bit vertical resolution, which were previously exclusive to higher-end instruments, the R&S RTB2000 set a new benchmark in its class in 2017. The R&S RTB 2 now carries on this tradition by providing more features and improved performance in a new color scheme.
Rohde & Schwarz offers a number of significant improvements with the R&S RTB 2, which further improve the instrument’s use and adaptability. First, an arbitrary waveform generator is now built into the oscilloscope. Users can now mimic missing components or recreate circuit stimulation thanks to this feature.
Signals up to 25 MHz and pattern rates up to 50 Mbits/s can be produced by the waveform generator. It may simulate real-world settings by adding noise to waveforms that are loaded from CSV files or oscilloscope captures. Additionally, it offers predefined patterns for CAN/LIN, SPI, UART, and I2C protocols, giving users the option to manually input patterns or choose counters.
The R&S RTB 2 is said to be a unique 10-in-1 device that combines a waveform generator, protocol analyzer, logic analyzer, oscilloscope, and more. Because of its multi-tool integration, it is perfect for users who need small solutions, particularly engineers, students, and hobbyists who work in cramped spaces.
Utility in educational contexts is further enhanced by the built-in web server and password-protected education mode, which allow viewing and control during lab sessions.
The R&S RTB 2 also has increased memory capacity, allowing users to collect more data for in-depth troubleshooting and supporting up to 160 Mpoints in segmented mode.
The oscilloscope’s capabilities are further expanded with the updated R&S RTB 2-PK1 software option bundle, which provides improved performance and a greater range of applications.
From November 12 to 15, 2024, Rohde & Schwarz will introduce the new R&S RTB 2 oscilloscope in hall A3.307 at electronica 2024 in Munich.
Rohde & Schwarz and a few distribution channel partners are now selling it. With bandwidths of 70 MHz, 100 MHz, 200 MHz, and 300 MHz, it is available in two and four channel variants. The 2-channel 70 MHz model costs 1,690 EUR.
