ST Foundation is proud to have been recognised at the 7th Edition Bharat CSR & Sustainability Summit and Awards 2026, organised by The Brainalytics at Pride Plaza Hotel, New Delhi, in the category “Corporate Category – Best CSR Initiative for Digital Equity and Inclusion.”

This recognition reflects ST Foundation’s long-standing commitment to helping bridge India’s digital divide through its Digital Unify Program, a volunteer-led initiative focused on digital literacy, educational access and community empowerment.
Founded in 2001, ST Foundation is the non-profit corporate entity of STMicroelectronics, a global high-tech company developing semiconductor technologies for a smarter, greener and more sustainable future.
The Foundation supports projects that use science and technology to drive human progress, working with non-profit partners around the world to build local skills, expand opportunities and support sustainable development.
In India, the Digital Unify Program plays a key role in advancing digital inclusion, especially in underserved communities where access to technology and digital education is still limited.
The programme is built around local needs and takes a practical, inclusive approach to learning. By working closely with NGOs, community organisations and local stakeholders, ST Foundation ensures its initiatives remain relevant, culturally appropriate and sustainable.
As part of this effort, it provides free devices, internet access, training and structured programmes that help improve digital literacy and create accessible digital content.
ST Foundation’s educational approach in India is built on two core pillars. The first is digital skills training, which focuses on essential capabilities such as computer basics, internet usage and digital safety. The second is digital empowerment, which goes beyond basic learning to encourage community engagement, responsible technology use and support for vulnerable groups.
Through initiatives such as Introduction to Computer Basics (ICB), Tablet for Kids, ICB for Visually Impaired People and Tablet for Seniors, the Foundation continues to make digital learning more inclusive for children, young people, adults, seniors and persons with disabilities.
The award also reflects ST Foundation’s wider mission to bridge the digital divide and create lasting social value through education, inclusion and innovation. With a mission-driven and scalable model, the Foundation continues to contribute to a more equitable and sustainable future in India and beyond.
Leadership Comment
“A key strength of ST Foundation’s model is its Train-the-Trainer approach” said Kamal Deep Jain, Country Manager at ST Foundation India. “By training local educators and community facilitators, we create a multiplier effect that expands program reach,
strengthens local ownership, and builds long-term capacity within communities. This direct-engagement model is supported by the commitment of current and retired STMicroelectronics volunteers, whose contribution forms the heart of the Foundation’s work”.
Commenting further, Chhavi Bajpai – ST Foundation India Director, said “With more than 50 Digital Unify labs established in partnership with NGOs across India, we have reached and benefited over 180,000 trainees nationwide, including more than 19,000 individuals in the last year alone. These results reflect a deep and measurable commitment to social impact, digital inclusion, and community resilience.
“This recognition is a testament to the dedication of our volunteers, the strength of our partnerships, and the trust of the communities we serve,” said Pietro Palella, ST Foundation President. “We are proud that our Digital Unify Program continues to create meaningful opportunities for people to build digital confidence and participate more fully in today’s connected world.”
