Kelington Group Bhd has officially announced a strategic partnership with Tata Electronics to back the development of a sprawling US$11 billion semiconductor fabrication plant located in Dholera, Gujarat.

Beyond physical infrastructure, the two companies are looking at broad ecosystem building. Kelington and Tata Electronics plan to jointly explore advanced design and engineering capabilities while fostering local talent development within India.

The sheer scale of the Dholera plant underscores its global importance. Backed by a planned investment of US$11 billion, the facility is designed as an advanced 300mm semiconductor fab.

Once operational, it will manufacture chips meant to power everything from automotive systems and mobile devices to artificial intelligence applications, catering to both domestic and international markets.

With construction progress accelerating, this strategic alliance marks a significant milestone in the ambitious push by Tata Electronics to put India on the map for advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
