Tata Electronics and ASML have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the growth of India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. As part of this collaboration, ASML will play a key role in enabling the setup and ramp-up of Tata Electronics’ upcoming 300 mm (12-inch) semiconductor Dholera Fab in Gujarat.

Tata Electronics and ASML partnership also reflects the deepening strategic ties between India and the Netherlands in critical technology areas, particularly semiconductors.
Under the agreement, ASML will provide its advanced lithography systems and comprehensive solutions for the Dholera facility. These industry-leading technologies are expected to help ensure smooth and efficient operations at India’s first commercial 300 mm fab, while delivering strong value to Tata Electronics’ customers.
Beyond equipment, the two companies will also work together to build local capabilities focusing on talent development, supply chain strengthening, and research initiatives to support the fab’s long-term success.
Tata Electronics is investing around $11 billion to build this facility, which will manufacture semiconductors for a wide range of applications, including automotive, mobile devices, and artificial intelligence.
The company has already partnered with global players such as Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC), gaining access to a diverse technology portfolio spanning nodes from 28nm to 110nm.
Construction of the fab is progressing steadily, and the ASML partnership marks another important step in building a complete semiconductor ecosystem, covering equipment, processes, design technologies, and materials.
Developing a strong domestic talent base remains a key priority for India’s semiconductor ambitions.
Tata Electronics has been actively collaborating with leading global and Indian institutions to equip young professionals with the necessary skills. Together with ASML, the company will further drive efforts to strengthen this talent pipeline, ensuring a steady supply of skilled experts to support the industry’s growth.
