Rohde & Schwarz is bringing some serious muscle to its existing HMP lineup, offering an exclusive preview of the new R&S HMP5050 power supply at electronica 2026 in Munich.
Slated for a Spring 2027 market launch, the new unit significantly dials up both channel count and power density. It packs five channels into the chassis, each capable of handling up to 15 A and 35 V (capped at 180 W per channel), delivering a maximum total output power of 560 W. Crucially for precision engineering, the HMP5050 keeps residual ripple ultra-low at under 350 microvolts RMS.
Flexibility is a core focus here. Channels can be easily bridged in series to bump up the voltage, or in parallel to push higher current. For demanding automated test equipment (ATE) setups on the production floor, engineers can link multiple instruments together. The units automatically synchronize, allowing you to centrally control and analyze a scalable setup of up to 64 individual channels.
If you’re heading to Munich from November 10–13, you can catch a live demo at Booth A4.307, where R&S engineers will be running multiple components and interconnected circuits off a single setup.
The R&S HMP5050 officially rolls out next spring, joining the legacy HMP2000 and HMP4000 models through Rohde & Schwarz and selected distribution partners.
