Avaada Electro has just hit a major milestone in India’s clean energy manufacturing sector. As of October 28, 2026, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) officially enlisted 7,117 MW (7.117 GW) of Avaada’s N-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing capacity under the 13th revision of the ALMM List-II.

Operating out of the Butibori facility in Maharashtra, this capacity expansion is exactly what the market needs right now.
With the global push to diversify and secure clean energy supply chains, India’s ability to manufacture advanced solar cells domestically is more critical than ever. This enlistment is a massive step toward building a globally competitive, self-reliant solar ecosystem right here at home.
Making Every Watt Count
The underlying technology makes a strong statement on its own. Avaada’s G12 N-type TOPCon solar cells deliver a declared maximum efficiency of up to 26.8%, alongside a top-tier average efficiency of 25.89%.
Pushing out a maximum power output of 11.81 watts per cell, this architecture extracts significantly more electrical power from a given silicon footprint.
But the goal isn’t just to chase high specifications on paper; it’s about translating that technological edge into consistent, dependable performance and competitive manufacturing economics.
Strengthening the Domestic Supply Chain
While 7.117 GW is the nameplate capacity, with actual output naturally driven by operating utilization, product mix, and yields the sheer scale of this platform is a game-changer for India’s solar industry.
It gives module manufacturers, developers, and EPCs a robust, high-volume domestic alternative.
This directly supports India’s push for industrial self-reliance and heavily reduces the sector’s dependence on imported components.
A Culture of Manufacturing Excellence
True manufacturing leadership takes more than just adding gigawatts to the grid. It requires relentless, long-term optimization of cell efficiency, production yields, reliability, and cost per watt.
Avaada is anchoring its operations on a three-pillar philosophy:
- First Time Right: Engineering quality into every single stage of production.
- Every Time Right: Delivering consistent, reliable output through highly disciplined processes.
- Everything Right: Seamlessly integrating product performance, operational excellence, and responsible manufacturing to drive customer satisfaction.
India’s energy transition isn’t just about generating green power, it’s a massive opportunity to build industrial muscle, create skilled jobs, and claim a major stake in global clean energy manufacturing.
For Avaada Electro, securing this 7.1 GW ALMM enlistment is a foundational step in delivering greater productivity, consistent quality, and maximum value from every single watt.
Chairman’s Statement
Commenting on the milestone, Vineet Mittal, Chairman and Whole-time Director, Avaada Electro Limited, said, “India’s clean energy future cannot depend only on how much solar power we install. It must also depend on how much technology we develop, how much we manufacture ourselves, and how effectively we compete with the world.
Our 7.1 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing enlistment is an important milestone in that journey.
But manufacturing leadership is not about building the biggest factory. It is about making better products, improving efficiency every day, maintaining uncompromising quality and earning the trust of customers through consistent performance.
At Avaada, we believe that every improvement in technology must ultimately create value for our customers, for the environment and for our country. Our ambition is simple to Make in India. Compete with the world. Make every watt count. This milestone is not the destination. It is another step towards demonstrating that India can build advanced clean energy technology at scale and with globally competitive standards.”
