Jyoti Structures Limited (JSL) is keeping its momentum rolling with a massive new win. Power Grid Corporation of India has tapped the company for a ?949.35 crore turnkey project to build out the ±800 kV HVDC Bipole Barmer-II and South Kalamb transmission lines in Rajasthan.

Split almost evenly across two packages, Lot 1 at ?474.85 crore and Lot 2 at ?474.50 crore, the contract hands JSL full end-to-end responsibility. That means they will handle everything from supply and erection to testing and final commissioning. The clock is already ticking, with a tight 38-month window to get both packages across the finish line.
This Power Grid deal adds serious weight to an already packed order book. It comes right on the heels of a ?689.93 crore contract from GETCO for Gujarat’s 765 kV DC Pachchham-Saykha line. Zoom out a bit, and they are also actively executing a crucial 220 kV double-circuit wind evacuation project in Sri Lanka alongside Hayleys Fentons to feed renewable power into the national grid.
Executing HVDC projects at this scale isn’t an off-the-shelf job. Pushing massive volumes of electricity over long distances demands heavy-duty engineering, razor-sharp project management, and flawless multi-stage coordination.
But with over 50 years in the transmission EPC game, JSL has the pedigree to back it up. Because they handle everything in-house, from design and manufacturing to prototype tower testing and final execution, they are uniquely positioned to take on these complex grid builds.
To date, they’ve laid down over 37,600 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and delivered upwards of 1,800 high-voltage substation bays worldwide.
