Hyderabad based MIC Electronics has completed the acquisition of a 59% stake in Singapore based Neo Semi SG Pte Ltd, expanding its presence in semiconductor technology and other deep tech opportunities.

The acquisition was completed through a share swap, with MIC Electronics allotting approximately 5.68 crore equity shares to the selling shareholders of Neo Semi as consideration. The allotment followed in principle approvals from the BSE and the National Stock Exchange of India.
The transaction marks a significant step in MIC Electronics’ strategy to expand beyond its existing business areas and build a stronger presence in technology driven markets. According to the company, the acquisition strengthens its focus on emerging technologies and creates an opportunity to participate in semiconductor related businesses.
Neo Semi SG is a Singapore incorporated deep tech company with activities spanning semiconductor IP creation, AI driven energy logistics, IoT based smart grid and climate resilience solutions, and circular electronics.
MIC Electronics expands semiconductor focus
The acquisition gives MIC Electronics a controlling interest in a company with exposure to several technology areas that are gaining importance as industries invest in digital infrastructure, intelligent energy management and semiconductor technologies.
Neo Semi’s semiconductor activities include IP development and access to the fabless semiconductor ecosystem. Its broader technology portfolio also extends into IoT enabled energy and smart grid applications, creating potential links between semiconductor technology and connected infrastructure.
MIC Electronics CEO Rakshit Mathur said the transaction strengthens the company’s focus on technology led opportunities and represents an important step in its strategic expansion.
Share swap completes the transaction
The acquisition follows a process that began earlier in 2026, when MIC Electronics announced plans to acquire a larger interest in Neo Semi. The company’s subsequent approvals and share allotment process led to the completed transaction for a 59% controlling stake.
The September share allotment completed the share swap component of the deal. The transaction also reflects MIC Electronics’ broader effort to build exposure to emerging technology segments through strategic investments and acquisitions.
Earlier regulatory disclosures had outlined Neo Semi’s business as covering semiconductor technology and allied activities, along with AI and IoT enabled energy solutions and circular electronics.
More Than An Overseas Investment
For MIC Electronics, the Neo Semi acquisition represents more than an overseas investment. It gives the Hyderabad headquartered company a controlling position in a Singapore based deep tech platform with activities across semiconductors, AI enabled energy systems and connected infrastructure.
As semiconductor technologies increasingly become part of energy, industrial and connected systems, the combination could provide MIC Electronics with a broader technology base as it looks to pursue new opportunities in emerging markets.
The completed acquisition also adds an international dimension to MIC Electronics’ technology strategy, with Neo Semi having a presence spanning Singapore, India and the UAE.
The transaction positions MIC Electronics to pursue opportunities at the intersection of semiconductor IP, AI, IoT and smart infrastructure, areas that are becoming increasingly important to the next phase of electronics and digital infrastructure development.
