Panasonic Unveils Compact, High-Speed FX-250 Sensor

THE VOLT VOTES

Panasonic Industry Europe has introduced the new FX-250 digital fiber sensor, designed to make everyday work on the factory floor simpler, faster, and more reliable.

The FX-250 features a large, high-contrast OLED display that’s easy to read from a distance. It doesn’t just show numbers, it also spells out full text, making the interface intuitive even for less experienced users or teams working in shifts.

That means setup and adjustments can be done quickly and confidently, helping reduce downtime and get machines running sooner.

A standout feature of the FX-250 digital fiber sensor is its two-step limit teaching function. No more manual tuning of the light intensity, just press a button twice, and the sensor automatically learns the correct switching threshold.

It handles even tricky conditions, such as glare, reflections, or bright ambient light, with ease. The result is faster setup, stable detection, and reliable performance, whether you’re dealing with shiny, transparent, or tiny components.

Compactness is another highlight. The sensor’s clever new cover design needs just a 30?millimeter opening radius, allowing it to fit comfortably into tight spaces.

This makes installation and maintenance simple, without the need to move nearby parts. It’s a smart fit for modern production setups where every millimeter counts.

Panasonic has also prioritized energy efficiency. Three built-in ECO modes automatically lower power consumption by dimming or switching off the display and indicators after inactivity.

In large-scale or 24/7 production environments, these small savings add up supporting sustainability targets and reducing overall energy costs.

Finally, with an impressive response time of just 35 microseconds, the FX-250 is built for speed. It delivers reliable detection of even the smallest or fastest-moving objects, ensuring high process stability and precise performance on demanding production lines.
