Panasonic Industry new ERJPC high-precision thick-film resistor series deliver accuracy levels that were once the preserve of thin-film technologies, while offering higher power density and a more cost-effective solution.

With a temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) as low as 25 ppm/K and tight tolerance options down to ±0.1% and ±0.5%, the new devices provide roughly twice the power density of comparable thin?film parts.
The ERJPC series thick-film resistor can handle up to twice the power of thin-film resistors 0.2 W in the 0603 case size and 0.25 W in 0805 packages. This higher power density lets designers replace thin-film components with smaller-case ERJPC parts, saving up to 50% board footprint while also cutting costs.
Long-term stability has also been improved by combining high accuracy with low TCR, these thick-film resistors achieve a total tolerance that is significantly better than conventional thick-film parts and approaches thin-film performance.
Panasonic Industry developed the ERJPC series using advanced materials and optimized internal structures.
The devices are manufactured with lead-free materials, making them RoHS-compliant and aligned with Panasonic’s global sustainability goals. They are also fully compliant with AEC?Q200, which opens them up for use in demanding automotive applications.

Clara Lagomarsini, Product Manager Device Solution Business Division at Panasonic Industry explains: “Many applications – such as Battery Management Systems (BMS), Electronic Control Units (ECUs), home appliances and industrial and factory automation systems – require high precision components. Our thick film technology is a real alternative to thin film implementations. The new ERJPC thick-film series combine high-precision, environmental stability, while offering a new path towards long-term cost efficiency.”
