Microchip Expands India Footprint with New Bengaluru Facility

With an acquisition of 1.72 lakh square feet (16,000 square meters) of premium office space at the Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP) Zone in Whitefield, Bengaluru, Microchip Technology has increased its presence in India. This New Bengaluru Office demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its engineering and design capacities in the region.

The facility, which can easily house more than 3,000 employees over the course of the next ten years, will function as a strategic extension of Microchip’s Bengaluru Development Center.

The new Bengaluru office is intended to support the company’s expanding employees and future employment goals, foster improved teamwork among regional and international teams, and give them access to innovative facilities for innovative research and development.

In addition to its physical locations in Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and New Delhi, Microchip now has a second facility in Bengaluru with the acquisition, demonstrating its long-term dedication to talent development, product development, and business enablement in India.

With this growth, Microchip Technology puts itself in a better position to provide innovative semiconductor solutions to the industrial, automotive, consumer, aerospace and defense, communications, and computing markets.

Talking on the new acquisition, Srikanth Settikere, vice president and managing director of Microchip’s India Development Center stated, “At Microchip, growth is about creating opportunities as much as scaling operations. With India contributing to nearly 20% of global semiconductor design talent, our new Bengaluru facility will sharpen our advanced IC design focus and strengthen our engagement in one of the country’s most dynamic technology hubs.”
