The seventh Foreign Office Consultations session, was chaired by Sweden’s Jan Knutsson and India’s Pavan Kapoor, revealed important advancements in a number of areas of cooperation and provided a roadmap for further cooperation.

One of the main topics of conversation was the advancements in important areas including trade, investment, innovation, and sustainability.

In order to promote sustainable growth, Sweden and India stressed the significance of utilizing cutting-edge technology including semiconductors, green steel, and green batteries.

The India Sweden Industry Transition Partnership’s Lead IT program has received praise for its efforts to mitigate climate change.
Security issues were also a major topic of conversation, with topics like cybersecurity and counterterrorism strategies coming up discussed between Sweden and India.

The commitment to maintaining regional stability and security was highlighted by the exploration of the prospect of cooperative partnerships in the defense industry.

Strong and quickly expanding economic connections were praised between the two countries. It was stated that business-to-business interactions are fostered by events such as the India Sweden Innovation Bridge, India Sweden Innovation Day, and India Sweden Sustainability Day. Furthermore, the sizeable Indian population in Sweden was seen as a crucial bridge connecting the two nations.

The forum also included international matters, such as working together to improve bilateral ties between India and the EU and revamping the UN Security Council.

Both parties acknowledged the requirement for a speedy conclusion of an advantageous free trade agreement between India and the EU and expressed happiness with the advancements made in fortifying collaboration between the two organizations.

Looking ahead, Sweden and India reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing communication and collaboration by agreeing to hold the next round of talks in New Delhi at a time that works for both parties.
