Hirect made waves at CWIEME 2026 in Berlin, launching its new high-performance copper conductor lineup, Continuously Transposed Conductors (CTC), Paper Insulated Copper Conductors (PICC), and Enameled Paper Insulated Copper Conductors (EPICC).

These are coming straight from their brand-new copper processing plant, built to handle the tough demands of transformers, traction motors, and other high-power wound components.
The copper conductors target critical infrastructure like power grids, railway rolling stock, catenary systems, and industrial networks. This launch solidifies Hirect’s spot in the global transformer supply chain while opening doors to international markets.
What They Offer:
-
CTC: Handles 5-63 strands with dimensions from 2.5×1.0 mm up to 12.0×5.0 mm. Transposition pitches adjustable from 25-200 mm—perfect for high-efficiency transformers.
-
PICC/EPICC: Copper up to 20 mm wide × 8 mm thick.
-
Insulation: Four coating types for different thermal/electrical classes. Paper wrapping goes up to 32 layers (CTC) or 8 layers (PICC) in one pass, with precise 0.25-5 mm thickness control.
The entire CTC production runs in a dust-free, air-conditioned cleanroom. Their ISO 9001:2015-certified facility includes full in-house labs testing dielectric dissipation, high-voltage breakdown, interstrand shorts, and proof stress ensuring every spool meets global standards.
Leadership Comment
“Exceptional quality and responsible sourcing are the cornerstones of our newly expanded copper operations. To guarantee flawless insulation and dimensional accuracy, we have integrated 100% in-line optical testing across all enameling lines, utilizing online pinhole and blister detectors alongside precision measuring equipment capable of maintaining tolerances of ±5 microns in drawing and rolling processes. Our entire supply chain is compliant with EU Conflict Minerals Regulations and the Responsible Minerals Initiative.”
