The new 9288-000 Series hermaphrodite wire-to-board (WTB) and wire-to-wire (WTW) connectors for industrial and lighting applications were introduced by KYOCERA AVX.
WTW termination with two identical mating halves, which simplifies BOMs, and WTB termination with one of those halves and an SMT version are made easier by these special two-piece hermaphrodite WTW & WTB connectors.
The company’s field-proven poke-home contact technology, which allows for quick, simple, and tool-free in-field wire termination, and orange or white glass-filled PBT insulators with plastic latches for good mechanical retention are features of both halves of the new 9288-000 Series hermaphrodite connectors.
Wires can be easily inserted by stripping and poking them, and extracted by twisting and pulling. In addition to providing exceptional electrical and mechanical performance, these poke-home contacts, which are made of phosphor bronze with a lead-free tin-over-nickel coating, also create strong, reliable, high-integrity connections.
There are now two to four contacts on a 5mm pitch for the new 9288-000 Series hermaphrodite WTW and WTB connectors.
They work with 16 to 18AWG solid or stranded wire and are rated for 6A (18AWG) or 7A (16AWG), 600VACRMS or the DC equivalent, 20 mating cycles, three wire replacement cycles, and operating temperatures between -40°C and +125°C.
Additionally, they are shipped in bulk container or tape and reel and are RoHS compliant and UL approved.
