X-FAB Sarawak Hosts Visit For Malayasian MITI Minister Tengku Abdul Aziz

Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry(MITI), YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, together with a delegation of about forty people lately visited X-FAB Sarawak Sdn. The delegates were also greeted by Tan Sri Dr. Hamid Bugo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the X-FAB group. The CEO of X-FAB Sarawak, Lee Boon Chun, gave the Minister a tour of the cutting-edge facilities during their visit.

He clarified that the X-FAB group, which also has production facilities in Germany, France, and the United States, comprises the largest and most advanced manufacturing plant, which is located in Kuching.

Given that X-FAB Sarawak is actively growing its capacity, this visit is noteworthy. More cleanroom space, which is necessary to accommodate the high demand for X-FAB’s specialized 200mm CMOS technology—particularly its well-liked 180 nm automotive processes—is being built as part of a new facility. Globally, around 20 chips produced by X-FAB are found in every new car, affirms its official release.

X-FAB Sarawak Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of X-FAB Silicon Foundries SE, was honored to host a visit from Malaysia’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry.

According to X-Fab, the work is proceeding according to plan, and the equipment move-in is scheduled for the fourth quarter.
