Vishay Intertechnology has kicked off its new IHDV line with four high voltage power inductors designed for next-generation automotive, energy, and industrial systems. These inductors are built for designs that need 1.5 kV isolation voltages and come in two compact sizes: 0808 (20 mm x 14 mm x 14 mm) and 1008 (25 mm x 20 mm x 23 mm).

The lineup of power inductors includes Automotive Grade parts like the IHDV-0808AC-3A and IHDV-1008BB-3A, plus commercial options such as the IHDV-0808AC-30 and IHDV-1008BB-30.
What ties them all together as they handle continuous high-temperature operation up to 180 °C while delivering soft saturation performance.
Breaking Through the Voltage Barrier
Most inductors out there top out at around 350 V. Vishay Dale’s new devices push way past that limit by using a PET plastic coilform insulator that supports 1.5 kV isolation voltage.
Powered by a powdered iron alloy core, these inductors keep their inductance stable even under load thanks to soft saturation behavior that regulates ripple current effectively.
They can also handle transient in-rush currents up to five times their heat rating current without breaking a sweat.
High Frequency Filtering That Actually Stands Out
When it comes to high frequency filtering, the IHDV devices crank out significantly higher impedance than iron composite inductors of similar size.
The 0808 models hit 1 k? at a peak frequency of 80 MHz, while the 1008 models deliver 2.8 k? at 25 MHz. That’s three times the impedance of similar inductors at four times the frequency.
You’ll find these devices working well in on-board chargers, battery-charging circuits, power factor correction (PFC) systems, and high voltage DC battery filtering.
Two Size Options for Different Needs
The IHDV-0808AC-3A and IHDV-0808AC-30 give you a compact, surface-mount footprint that’s roughly one-third the volume of the 1008 model.
If you need maximum mechanical strength in rugged environments, the larger IHDV-1008BB-3A and IHDV-1008BB-30 come with through-hole terminations that deliver exactly that.
All four devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green. They also include extra support pins to boost resistance to shock and vibration.
Plus, the automotive versions, the IHDV-0808AC-3A and IHDV-1008BB-3A are AEC-Q200 qualified, so they’re ready for the toughest automotive applications.
