VIAVI Unveils 400G CyberFlood CF1000 for AI-Scale Security Testing

THE VOLT VOTES

VIAVI Solutions has introduced its next-generation CyberFlood CF1000 Appliance, a native 400G platform designed to test security and application performance in multi-terabit, AI-driven data center environments.

Built for network equipment vendors, hyperscale data center operators, and service providers, the CyberFlood CF1000 supports OSI Layer 4–7 validation under realistic conditions.

It can simulate encrypted, mixed-traffic environments to test systems such as next-generation firewalls (NGFWs), application delivery controllers (ADCs), DDoS protection solutions, VPN gateways, zero-trust architectures, and AI inference networks.

What sets the CyberFlood CF1000 apart is its ability to combine large-scale encrypted traffic generation, continuous threat simulation, quantum-safe cryptography validation, and AI workload emulation into a single platform. This unified approach helps close the gaps typically found in conventional testing systems.

According to Dell’Oro Group, the global network security market is expected to surpass $30 billion in 2026, driven by the rise of zero-trust frameworks, AI workloads, and ongoing cloud expansion. While software-based security solutions are growing rapidly, high-capacity physical testing platforms remain essential for validating real-world performance before deployment.

The CF1000 delivers native 400G testing in a compact 2RU form factor. It includes four 400G OSFP ports and eight 100G QSFP28 ports, enabling up to 1.2 Tbps of application traffic testing without requiring external switching.

The platform is designed to handle the growing volume of encrypted traffic, offering TLS performance of over 500 Gbps and supporting up to 800,000 TLS 1.3 connections per second.

It also expands CyberFlood’s capabilities with scalable AI inference traffic emulation. This allows users to realistically test large language model (LLM) performance and AI-driven workloads at terabit scale, helping organizations evaluate end-to-end infrastructure and balance cost efficiency with user experience.

“As networks move toward 400G and higher speeds, the combination of encrypted traffic, AI?driven workloads and distributed cloud architectures is raising the bar for security performance validation. Platforms that can realistically test security and application infrastructure at scale are becoming an essential part of how vendors and operators reduce risk and confidently deploy next?generation networks,” said Mauricio Sanchez, Senior Director, Enterprise Security and Networking, Dell’Oro Group.

“The move to ultra high-speed, highly secure AI networks has fundamentally changed the way security and performance must be validated,” said Sashi Jeyaretnam, Senior Director, Security Product Management, VIAVI. “The challenge has intensified as organizations build infrastructure to enable the agentic era, which require that quantum security, AI inference workloads and AI-enabled security policies all work seamlessly together. CF1000 delivers the performance and realism customers need to validate modern data center infrastructure and security architectures, while helping them reduce validation timelines, optimize infrastructure decisions and accelerate deployments.”
