SGS has announced that it has become the first company in India to offer testing services under the Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange (TISAX®), following the approval of its Pune Chakan laboratory.
The certification marks a significant step for the country’s automotive testing ecosystem, as TISAX is widely used by global automakers to ensure consistent information security standards across their supply chains.
Developed by the German automotive industry, the framework helps companies demonstrate compliance with strict data protection and prototype security requirements.
With vehicles becoming increasingly connected and software-driven, safeguarding sensitive data ranging from personal information to proprietary design details has become critical. TISAX assessments are designed to address these risks by validating how well organizations protect such data across their operations.
For suppliers, meeting TISAX requirements goes beyond compliance. It reduces the need for multiple audits by allowing results to be shared with different OEMs through the ENX portal, cutting both time and long-term costs. Certification also strengthens credibility, supports alignment with global standards such as ISO 27001 and UK GDPR, and improves access to international markets where data security is a key qualification factor.
The newly approved Pune facility now joins SGS’s existing network of TISAX-assessed labs in China and Germany, expanding the company’s global footprint while improving service access for clients in South Asia.
SGS said the recognition highlights its focus on maintaining high standards of confidentiality and trust in handling sensitive automotive data, particularly as security requirements tighten across the industry.
