MYIR Electronics has rolled out the MYC-JMX95X, a compact SMARC 2.1/2.2 system-on-module built around NXP’s i.MX95 applications processor and aimed at edge AI, industrial automation, and vision-heavy workloads.

The module pairs a hexa?core Cortex?A55 CPU cluster with dedicated real?time and security cores, plus a 2?TOPS NPU and Mali?G310 GPU, all in an 82 × 50 mm, industrial?grade package.
What’s inside the MYC-JMX95X
At the heart of the module is the NXP i.MX95 (MIMX9596XVTXNAC), fabricated on a 16 nm FinFET process. It combines:
- 6× Arm Cortex?A55 application cores, up to 1.8 GHz
- 1× Cortex?M7 real?time core at 800 MHz
- 1× Cortex?M33 system?management core at 333 MHz
For on?device AI, MYIR includes a 2 TOPS eIQ Neutron NPU (INT8) that supports mainstream frameworks such as TensorFlow Lite and ONNX Runtime. Graphics and display are handled by an Arm Mali?G310 GPU with 4K video decode and multi?display output (MIPI?DSI/HDMI, dual LVDS).
Memory and storage options are 4 GB or 8 GB LPDDR5 (with inline ECC) and 32 GB or 64 GB eMMC, plus 32 Kbit EEPROM for configuration data. The board uses a 12?layer PCB design and is rated for ?40 °C to +85 °C operation, targeting long?life industrial deployments. MYIR notes alignment with NXP’s 15?year product longevity commitment.
Security features include a discrete TPM 2.0 chip, TrustZone isolation, Secure Boot, and hardware crypto (AES/RSA/ECC), with the architecture described as PQC?ready and aligned with the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
Interfaces and connectivity
The module exposes a wide range of high?speed and fieldbus interfaces over the standard 314?pin SMARC connector:
- Dual RGMII Gigabit Ethernet
- Onboard Wi?Fi 6 + Bluetooth 5.4 (AzureWave module)
- 1× PCIe Gen3
- 2× USB 3.0 Host, 2× USB 2.0 Host (via hub), 1× USB 2.0 OTG
- 2× CAN FD
- 4× UART, 2× SPI, 3× I2C, 2× SAI (I2S/PCM/TDM), SD/SDIO 3.0, PWM, ADC
- Camera and display: 1× 4?lane MIPI?CSI, 1× MIPI?DSI, 2× LVDS, HDMI (up to 4K@30 Hz via carrier)
Software support centers on Linux 6.12.49 LTS (Yocto) with an open?source BSP and U?Boot 2025.04. The module is CE and RoHS certified.
Evaluation platform: MYD-JMX95X
To speed up development, MYIR offers the MYD-JMX95X kit, which combines the MYC-JMX95X SOM with the MYB-JMX95X carrier board over the 314?pin SMARC interface. The carrier breaks out interfaces for rapid prototyping and also serves as a reference baseboard for custom designs.
Key onboard resources include:
- Dual Gigabit Ethernet
- Wi?Fi 6 / BT 5.4
- 4G/5G via mini?PCIe with dual micro?SIM slots
- HDMI / MIPI?DSI, dual LVDS, MIPI?CSI camera input
- Audio I/O
- M.2?2280 PCIe slot for NVMe SSD
- Micro SD card slot
- Multiple USB ports (2× USB 3.0 Host, 2× USB 2.0 Host, 1× USB 2.0 OTG)
- Dual CAN FD plus RS485/RS232 on a Phoenix connector

Target applications
MYIR positions the MYC-JMX95X for industrial automation, edge AI gateways, machine vision, power systems, medical devices, and in?vehicle infotainment, leveraging the i.MX95’s heterogeneous compute, rich I/O, and long?term availability.
