MIKROE Opens NECTO Studio to 10,000+ MCUs from 12 Vendors

Embedded developers now have a single IDE that spans more than 10,000 microcontrollers from 12 different silicon vendors, all inside MIKROE’s multi-architecture environment, NECTO Studio. The move means engineers can experiment with roughly half of the MCU variants on the market without switching toolchains or relearning workflows.

One platform, many architectures

By consolidating support for ARM, RISC-V, PIC, dsPIC, AVR, 8051 and other architectures, NECTO Studio lets teams evaluate new parts and migrate designs within the same interface.

That reduces the friction typically involved in trialling alternative MCUs, from installing new IDEs to adapting project structures and debug configurations.

Remote hardware on demand

NECTO Studio also integrates with MIKROE’s Planet Debug remote board farms, giving developers instant access to physical hardware for coding and debugging without waiting for boards to arrive or be shared across teams.

This is particularly useful for distributed teams, students, or anyone prototyping with devices they don’t yet have in hand.

Libraries, AI, and expert help built in

The ecosystem bundles more than 5,000 ready-to-use libraries, a MIKROE-trained AI assistant that can generate working code, and the newly added NECTO Chat for 24/7 access to expert support.

Together with MIKROE’s click boards and other hardware, the stack is designed to take engineers from concept to a working prototype on their desk faster than traditional, fragmented toolchains.

For developers juggling multiple architectures or under pressure to shorten time-to-prototype, the update positions NECTO Studio as a “learn once, code anywhere” environment across a large slice of the MCU landscape.
