MediaTek extends its vision for the future of smartphone imaging and the broader edge-to-cloud ecosystem at its flagship MediaTek Tech Day 2026 in New Delhi. Branded “Beyond the Lens,” the event highlighted how the company’s SoCs are powering next-generation flagship imaging experiences, while reinforcing its expanding “One MediaTek” strategy across automotive, data centers, AI PCs, and connected platforms.
The event brought together a wide mix of industry voices, including media, analysts, professional photographers, OEM partners, and key opinion leaders. Representatives from vivo, Motorola, and Xiaomi joined discussions exploring the next frontier of imaging technology, while also emphasizing MediaTek’s unified ecosystem approach that connects intelligent solutions from edge devices to the cloud.
A key highlight was the panel discussion titled ‘Who Really Takes the Photo?’, moderated by Rajiv Makhni. The session featured Rahul Jhangiani, Anuj Sidharth of MediaTek India & SEA, Paigham Danish of vivo India, Gautam Batra of Xiaomi India, and Shivam Ranjan of Motorola Mobility. The conversation examined the balance between human creativity, camera hardware, and chipset capabilities, with panelists agreeing that the best imaging outcomes come from a synergy of all three especially the role of advanced ISPs in enhancing results.
MediaTek also set up dedicated experience zones, showcasing its imaging technologies across flagship devices. These included the vivo X300 Pro powered by the Dimensity 9500, OPPO Find X9s with the Dimensity 9500s, and devices like the Motorola Edge 70 Pro and Xiaomi 17T running on the Dimensity 8500.
On the technology front, the company spotlighted its latest premium chipsets, Dimensity 9500s, Dimensity 9500, and Dimensity 8500 focusing on gains in AI, imaging, gaming, connectivity, and power efficiency. It also outlined its evolving product structure under the One MediaTek umbrella, spanning Dimensity for smartphones, Dimensity AX for automotive, and Dimensity CX for compute platforms.
MediaTek’s automotive push continues to gain traction, with over 20 global automaker partnerships and more than 190 active projects under its Dimensity AX platform. At the same time, the company is accelerating its efforts in AI computing and next-generation compute platforms, signaling a broader play beyond mobile.
The discussions at Tech Day also touched on MediaTek’s wider roadmap, covering advancements in connectivity, imaging, AI, and intelligent edge devices.
In India, MediaTek continues to hold its position as the leading smartphone chipset brand, securing a 49% market share in Q2 2026, marking its 24th consecutive quarter at the top.
