HMS Networks has launched the N-Tron NT7000 Series, a new managed industrial Ethernet switch platform built for environments where uptime, speed, and timing precision really matter.

Industrial networks are moving faster and becoming more demanding. The NT7000 is designed to keep up, with fast startup, quick network recovery, and hardware-based precision timing for modern automation systems.
Fast startup and quick recovery
When a production line goes back online, every second counts. The NT7000 is built to reduce downtime, with boot times that pass traffic in under 7 seconds and N-Ring redundancy with healing of around 20 ms.
That means networks can recover quickly after a fault and get operations moving again.
Precision timing in hardware
As motion control, robotics, and other time-sensitive applications become more common, accurate timing is no longer optional.
The NT7000 supports hardware-based IEEE 1588 PTP for sub-microsecond synchronization, moving timestamping into hardware to reduce the variation often seen with software-based timing.
The result is more consistent performance for demanding industrial tasks.
Designed for easier management
The NT7000 is also built to make everyday network work simpler. N-View 3 supports switch and topology discovery, network health monitoring, firmware management, and centralized IP addressing.
A micro SD card inside the switch helps with configuration backup and restore, making replacement and recovery faster. For EtherNet/IP environments, CIP messaging AOI and Faceplate tools are included to simplify control system integration.
Flexible industrial platform
The NT7000 comes in multiple configurations to fit different industrial setups, including copper and fixed fiber options. That gives system designers more flexibility whether the installation is compact or more complex.
Built for harsh environments
This series is made for real industrial conditions. It carries certifications for UL Ordinary and Hazardous locations, ATEX, IECEx, IEEE 802.3, ODVA, marine, railway, and rolling stock applications.
The switches also come in rugged all-metal DIN-mountable enclosures and are built to handle shock, vibration, surge protection, redundant power inputs, and extreme operating temperatures.
Leadership Comment
“Industrial teams keep telling us they need performance they can trust—without added complexity. The N-Tron NT7000 is built for that reality: fast startup, rapid recovery, hardware-based precision timing, and tools that make it easier to deploy, maintain, and restore. It’s designed to keep critical operations running in the environments where uptime matters most,” said Barry Turner, N-Tron Product Manager.
