Recently, element14 held an element14 Community poll to gauge industry sentiment regarding the anticipated “Industry 5.0.”
Industry 5.0 is the idea that robots and other machines will soon be able to coexist peacefully with humans by utilizing big data and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The element14 Community poll results included a number of insightful observations that, taken together, seem to show that, although Industry 5.0 is a viable idea, some people believe it to be premature.
Insights from element14 Community Poll
For instance, a quarter of respondents do not believe that Industry 5.0 activities would emerge for another three to five years, despite a tiny fraction of respondents claiming to be somewhat active in these projects presently, revealed the element14 poll.
However, because Industry 5.0 fails to adequately consider the reality of Industry 4.0, half of the survey respondents think the idea may never be completely embraced as currently intended.
This is due to the fact that Industry 4.0 is still in its infancy as manufacturers figure out how to expand and change their businesses in order to capitalize on machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. Industry 4.0 is coming along rather rapidly, but there is still a long way to go.
“We are excited to unveil the findings from our recent element14 Community poll, shedding light on the industry’s perspectives regarding Industry 5.0. While the concept shows promise, our poll reveals a diverse range of opinions, suggesting that its widespread adoption might be premature for some,” said Andreea Teodorescu, Global Director of Product Marketing & element14 Community. “With a quarter of respondents projecting a transition timeline of three to five years and others express scepticism about its feasibility, it’s evident that Industry 4.0 remains a pivotal focus for many.”
As the unrelenting march towards digitalization continues to revolutionize present industry and the as-yet-undefined industry of the future, element14 is happy to assist Industry 4.0 affirmed the leading distributor.
