Micron Locks in Long-Term Memory Supply for Ford’s Next-Gen Vehicles

THE VOLT VOTES

Micron Technology and Ford Motor Company have signed a long term Strategic Customer Agreement to lock in automotive memory and storage supply for Ford’s next generation vehicles. The deal is aimed squarely at keeping critical components flowing as cars become more software driven and data hungry, from advanced driver assistance systems to rich in cabin experiences.

As part of the agreement, Micron is ramping output of key automotive memory products and backing that growth with capacity expansions built around long product lifecycles and steady supply for major vehicle programs.

Those investments sit inside Micron’s broader push to scale memory and storage responsibly with global demand, support the automotive ecosystem and reinforce US based semiconductor infrastructure.investors.

The Ford pact is also supported by Micron’s ongoing effort to expand and localize manufacturing for auto customers, including its advanced DRAM production in Manassas, Virginia.

That fab, which has been upgraded with multi billion dollar investment, is positioned to deliver the longevity, output and supply predictability that long running vehicle platforms require.
