USB-IF Validates Anritsu MP1900A Solution for USB4 Version 2.0 Compliance Testing

The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) has validated ANRITSU CORPORATION’s test solution for the most latest USB4® [*] Version 2.0 (USB4 v2) communication standard. This solution offers advanced USB device evaluation capabilities and is based on the Signal Quality Analyzer-R MP1900A.

Anritsu USB4 v2 Test Solution Validated by USB-IF

It supports the widespread deployment of next-generation high-speed interfaces by enhancing the quality and reliability of products that use the USB4® Version 2.0 standard.

The most advanced USB standard as of December 2025 is USB4 v2, which can transfer data at up to 80 Gbit/s, which is twice as fast as USB4 v1 (40 Gbit/s). It supports next-generation applications like VR/AR devices, external GPUs, high-speed storage, and high-resolution video transmission.

Additionally, the specification greatly enhances communication performance and reliability. By introducing innovations such as a new TS2.CLKSW training sequence that incorporates clock switching, the Frequency Variation Profile to improve the stability of link training—a signal quality and initialization procedure—and Pulse Amplitude Modulation 3-level (PAM3) signaling to increase bandwidth efficiency.

Currently, semiconductor manufacturers who produce USB4 v2 control ICs are the main source of demand for assessment and certification testing.

In the future, acceptance is anticipated to spread to consumer product manufacturers of USB4 v2 hubs, docking stations, and cables as well as test houses for the deployment of test equipment.

Anritsu USB4 v2 Test Solution Validated by USB-IFProduct Overview: Signal Quality Analyzer-R MP1900A

A high-performance Bit Error Rate Tester (BERT), the MP1900A supports receiver testing for a variety of high-speed interfaces, including as PCIe, USB, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, and 400 GbE/800 GbE.

It combines a high-sensitivity error detector, precision jitter sources (SJ, RJ, SSC, BUJ), noise sources (CM-I, DM-I), and industry-leading PPG technology for high-quality waveforms.

Additionally, link training and LTSSM analysis are supported by the MP1900A for thorough examination of high-speed devices.
