The EcoSyn Lite Microwave Synthesizer Module, which offers exceptional phase noise, lightning-fast switching speed, and compact size, is the latest addition to Anritsu’s signal generator product line. To handle a variety of signal generator applications, EcoSyn Lite enhances Anritsu’s high performance Rubidium benchtop signal generators.
EcoSyn Lite has an output power of +18 dBm and operates in the frequency range of 10 MHz to 20 GHz. Compact and portable, this 4 x 4 x 0.8-inch device is perfect for applications requiring instrumentation-grade CW signal sources that are limited in space.
Instrument Class Phase Noise in Module Form Factor
At 10 GHz and 10 kHz offset, EcoSyn Lite has the best phase noise performance in its class, with an average of -126 dBc/Hz. This compares favorably to some of the benchtop signal generators available on the market today.
It is perfect as LO for up/down converters in RF/Microwave transceivers due to its strong output power of up to +18 dBm. Complex and high order modulation signals are being used by these transceivers more and more, necessitating LOs with low phase noise for up/down conversion.
With its exceptional non-harmonic spurious of -60 dBc, EcoSyn Lite produces extremely low jitter and can be utilized in high-speed optical systems and as a clock source for Gbit ADC/DAC testing.
Ultra-fast Frequency Switching Speed
In triggered list mode, EcoSyn Lite’s frequency switching time is incredibly quick—less than 50 µs. Fast frequency switching speeds save testing time in applications involving Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).
Reduced test costs can be achieved by increasing test throughput through shorter test times. EcoSyn Lite’s tiny form factor and incredibly quick switching time make it perfect for ATE rack applications.
In radar cross section (RCS) measurements, which are required to create radar signatures for known targets like ships, missiles, and airplanes, switching speed can also be crucial. Measurements at thousands of frequencies are used to create these signatures.
Given the total number of measurements required, EcoSyn’s incredibly quick switching time can result in significant measurement time savings.
Large volumes of data at various frequencies are also necessary for antenna testing. The incredibly quick switching speed of EcoSyn Lite can significantly reduce testing time.
Efficient, compact and Easy to Automate
The portable, compact, 4 in x 4 in x 0.8 form factor of EcoSyn Lite synthesizer modules allows them to be utilized in applications with limited space that call for instrumentation-grade CW signal sources. It is powered by a +12 VDC supply and has remote control capabilities for both USB and SPI interfaces.
Because EcoSyn Lite supports QuickSyn native commands and conventional SCPI, creating scripts for remote control and automation is simple and intuitive.
