R&S Consumer Electronics Testing Leadership Reaches CETEX 2024

Rohde & Schwarz is located at booth 207 of Elicium Hall 13 at the RAI in Amsterdam, during the CETEX Forum and Expo. Selected T&M instruments from Rohde & Schwarz that meet the needs of consumer electronics engineers are available for hands-on demonstration to attendees of the CETEX Forum and Expo.

Test and development engineers are invited by CETEX, the brand-new Consumer Electronics Test & Development Forum and Expo, to RAI in Amsterdam on October 9–10, 2024. There, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase its cutting-edge test and measurement solutions that tackle the most recent, emerging issues in consumer electronics.CETEX Forum and Expo Rohde Schwarz TM Instruments the volt post

In order to improve EMC compliance, accelerate the debugging of digital protocols, or increase the energy efficiency of their products, visitors can interact with the company’s experts and explore the newest innovations.

Numerous components make up consumer electronics, and each one needs to be tested independently while the product is being developed, the datasheet is being put together, or it is being certified.

With test solutions for a wide range of applications, including electromagnetic compatibility (EMC/EMI), energy efficiency (switch mode analysis), connectivity and Internet of Things requirements (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI, USB4, etc.), and electrical circuitry tests (digital buses), Rohde & Schwarz covers the entire ecosystem.

Next Generation Oscilloscopes

Test and development engineers working on consumer electronics can benefit from enhanced time and frequency measurements provided by the next-generation MXO 5 and MXO 5C series oscilloscopes, which offer unparalleled versatility.

Both the rackmount optimized MXO 5C series without a display and the four- or eight-channel MXO 5 series will be on display at CETEX, according to Rohde & Schwarz.

All oscilloscopes offer the fastest acquisition rate in the industry (4.5 million waveforms/s), the highest precision (12-bit ADC/18-bit HD resolution), a deep memory capture (500 million points/channel), and the highest sensitivity (with advanced digital trigger) because of the integrated MXO-EP ASICs developed by Rohde & Schwarz.

These characteristics make it easier for engineers to debug their designs, which helps with tasks like logic and bus protocol debugging and power and signal integrity measurements.

Power conversion and consumption measurements

Rohde & Schwarz is going to showcase power conversion and consumption measurements at CETEX. Characterizing the gate driver signals, particularly in multiphase, can be exceedingly difficult when trying to optimize system performance.

Engineers may create precise measurements for inverter design with the assistance of the MXO 5. The instrument offers a clear picture of all essential signal features thanks to its eight channels.

In order to assess the power consumption of any battery-powered gadget, particularly Internet of Things devices with extremely low sleep currents, Rohde & Schwarz will showcase their two-quadrant R&S NGU201 source measure unit. Design engineers can use this specific power supply to simulate real-world battery characteristics.

EMC pre-compliance and inhouse testing

Electromagnetic emissions can be conducted or radiated by any electrical equipment. In order to boost the chances of passing the official EMC compliance test, Rohde & Schwarz provides customized solutions that incorporate testing and EMI debugging into the design process of products.

Using the robust R&S RTO6 oscilloscope for EMI debugging or the R&S EPL1000 EMI test receiver for in-house EMC pre-compliance testing, visitors can learn from the pioneer in EMC testing.

Component testing

At the event, Rohde & Schwarz will demonstrate its R&S LCX LCR meters, which are ideal for all discrete passive components up to 10 MHz and have configurable impedance measuring features.

Even more, users can execute sweep measurements that display many charts by using the R&S LCX sweep software tool. Zurich Instruments AG’s MFIA impedance analyzer, a subsidiary since 2021, will also be on exhibit.

In addition to offering impedance analysis for both high and low impedance components, the MFIA features a measurement mode that makes it easy to monitor changes in impedance in test devices in real time.

Wireless connectivity and Bluetooth testing

Bluetooth is the leading technology for short-range, low-power wireless communications in consumer goods, from earbuds and fitness trackers to smart home applications.

Rohde & Schwarz provides a thorough, fully automated test solution for confirming Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) and Bluetooth® Classic physical layer functionality, including LE audio measurements, with the CMW platform.

The Bluetooth® SIG-approved R&S CMW270 wireless connectivity tester will be on show at CETEX. The tester includes WLAN 11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax SISO and MIMO signaling testing and is perfect for integrated wireless communications solutions.
