Honeywell UpCycle Process Help Hinergy Convert Waste Plastic into RFP

In Shandong Province, Hinergy intends to construct a plastics facility that will use Honeywell’s UpCycle Process Technology to transform waste plastic into recovered polymer feedstock (RPF). With Honeywell’s technology, the factory should be able to convert 30,000 tons of mixed waste plastics year into RPF.

The partnership highlights Honeywell’s emphasis on the energy transition, which, together with automation and the future of aviation, is one of three compelling megatrends to which Honeywell’s portfolio is aligned.

Virgin plastics made from fossil fuels are less necessary thanks to UpCycle. Honeywell’s UpCycle Process Technology may assist recycle almost 90% of waste plastics when combined with additional chemical and mechanical recycling processes, as well as enhancements to collecting and sorting. This would boost the quantity of waste plastics that can be used as feedstock for polymers significantly.

Utilizing cutting-edge pyrolysis, pollutants management, and molecular conversion technologies, Honeywell’s UpCycle Process Technology recovers waste plastic to RPF, which is subsequently utilized to make new plastics. This increases the range of polymers that can be recycled, adding polystyrene and colorful, flexible, multilayered packaging.
