Honeywell Intelligently Manages Energy-Intensive HVAC Systems Efficiently

The introduction of INNCOM Direct, an automated energy management system designed to be simple to install and help increase energy efficiency in mid-market hotel properties, was announced by Honeywell.INNCOM Direct Enables Hotel Manage HVAC Systems Smartly the volt post

With the introduction of INNCOM Direct, Honeywell is able to better align its business around three powerful megatrends, such as the energy transition and automation, stated its official release.

With more than 30% of U.S. hotel rooms typically vacant at any time, INNCOM Direct enables a hotel to manage energy-intensive HVAC systems more efficiently during periods when guestrooms are vacant.

High-end hotel operators were the only ones with access to INNCOM technology before. Now, mid-market, or limited-service, hotels can benefit from simple setup and portfolio analytics that can be accessible from mobile devices or a dashboard, and can be used on a single property or throughout a portfolio, thanks to this combination of hardware, software, and cloud monitoring.

INNCOM Direct employs a proprietary sensing system to recognize unoccupied spaces and autonomously regulate the temperature without compromising customer satisfaction because empty rooms and common areas do not require the same level of heating or cooling.

Similar to this, unoccupied guest rooms can have a preset temperature that can be changed to a more pleasant level when a guest checks in. INNCOM Direct can set a longer-staying guest’s room temperature to a more environmentally friendly setting, which is then automatically changed upon the guest’s return.

Halifax Hospitality signed up for INNCOM Direct in order to manage its HVAC use, which may account for up to 25% of the electricity cost, when it started construction on its fifth hotel in Spring Hill, Tennessee. With 159 rooms and 92,000 square feet, this hotel is twice as big as what the corporation would have built ten years ago, which will increase operating expenses.

Key Comments

“As hotels become more carbon-conscious, they are taking meaningful steps to show they care about their impact on the environment,” said Billal Hammoud, president and chief executive officer of Honeywell Building Automation. “Until now, mid-market hotels faced fewer options when it came to better managing their HVAC systems with automation. Now, INNCOM Direct is leveling the playing field with an affordable, cloud-based energy management system.”

Customer’s Testimonials

“Hotel rooms are getting bigger and bigger, and we needed something that will deliver energy savings, especially when guests aren’t using the room or a common area is empty,” said Hitesh Patel, vice president of Halifax Hospitality. “Utility costs are going up just like anything else. We’re always looking to find the next big thing to cut costs where we can.”
